The closest I'll ever get to organizing my records

I have a bunch of records and my record player is as broke as I am. Occasionally I have other things to say or show. I don't give a fuck.

The Saddest Landscape: Vinyl Project Update

thesaddestlandscape:

Sup all- thank you so much for all of your support this far- we’re about a third of the way to getting the reissues project fully funded and off the ground.

Peeps have been sending us suggestions on what to add- so we’ve listened.

You wanted slipmats and more colored vinyl- ask and ye shall…

Support vinyl, support TSL, throw some money at this.

Raising Arizona
Fargo
Miller’s Crossing
Blood Simple
Dr Stange Love, Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
All of these movies are So. Fucking. Good. I recently got to see Dr. Strangelove on the big screen and it was fantastic.

My vinyl collecting is rivaled only by my DVD (well, now Bluray) collecting.  The barnes and noble 50% criterion sale threatened to bankrupt me, but I was able to exercise a little will power and only get these two
Videodrome (Criterion Bluray)
I fucking love ’80s David Cronenberg. This movie and The Fly especially. Whenever I mention this movie and someone hasn’t heard of it I just say “James Woods gun-fucks his chest vagina” and if that doesn’t make them want to see it, we aren’t friends anymore.
Being John Malkovich (Criterion Bluray)
I love Charlie Kaufman, John Cusack, John Malkovich, and Spike Jonze.  In that order.

I have at least a dozen patches that I need to put on stuff.  I’m lazy but once in awhile I’ll sit down and stitch something up.  Here are my “Hail Satan” Snowing jeans

My cat loves it when I get vinyl in the mail almost as much as I do

Trophy Scars - Alphabet. Alphabets. (White)
I love this album. So much. Reminds me of a particularly shitty time of my life where I was relating a lot to the lyrics and such. I wish they had played Yes and No when I saw them in CT.  I don’t really “mosh,” but I would have spazzed the fuck out.

The Saddest Landscape/Trophy Scars - Split 7” (Half black/clear)
So glad Trophy Scars had copies of this left when I saw them a couple months ago.  Did not want to have to ebay or discogs it.
Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) - On Time Spent Waiting, Or Placing the Weight of the World on the Shoulders of Those You Love the Most 7” (Tan)
So, these guys played in New Paltz the week AFTER I moved out of town and I didn’t hear about it until less than an hour before the show.  I was sick and just couldn’t justify the drive.  Still super pissed about that.  I also missed them play Purchase with One Hundred Year Ocean because life is stupid and work is stupider.

Self Defense Family - Self Immolation Family 7” (White)
Self Defense Family - I’m Going Through Some Shit 7” (Black)
Even though I wish these guys would release some more You Are Beneath Me style tunes (seriously, how fucking good is that album? If your answer is anything less than “SO FUCKING GOOD” I hate you) their “Island Series” 7”s are fucking awesome.  Odd anecdote, I was listening to I’m Going Through Some Shit at work the other day and my boss was like “This Motorhead song is really weird…”

The Saddest Landscape - Cover Your Heart 7” Repress (Cream)
I like TSL and the back of my calf can vouch for me.  I like that topshelf always throws in hair metal trading cards with their pre orders. Speaking of which, I wonder when the Sirs album is shipping… (hopefully soon because I need my post-hardcore Bear vs Shark-vibing jams)

Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica (2xLP 180G)
I was the douchebag in high school who was all like “Pfftt…’fuck Float On’ listen to Moon and Antarctica, poser.”  But that was almost 10 years ago and who WASN’T a pretentious douche when they were 17? (if you’re still a teenager, trust me, you’ll want to travel back in time and punch yourself in the face soon enough) Although, I still don’t like Float On.
